)Modified Current Interest Tradition (MCIT
Low Cost Interest Sensitive Whole Life
Modified Current Interest Tradition (MCIT) is a
permanent policy
with low premiums that combines the most attractive features of traditional
whole life and
universal life.
MCIT has level, fixed premiums and provides a
death benefit
that is level for 20 years. If desired, the Initial Specified Amount Continuation Rider may be added to the MCIT policy. This rider, which may only be added at the time the MCIT policy is issued, allows for the purchase of monthly term insurance in an amount necessary to maintain the initial death benefit beyond 20 years. This rider allows for the purchase of the monthly term insurance without evidence of insurability.
Like whole life, MCIT provides guaranteed cash values, but like universal life it develops an accumulation account based on current interest and mortality
rates.
MCIT provides a unique premium and pour-in feature. The premiums, which are guaranteed to be level, are payable for the insured's lifetime. The pour-in provision allows the policy owner the option to pay an amount of money in addition to the required premium payment. This enables the insured to accumulate additional cash values or additional death benefit.
The plan offers the policy owner the option to have premium payments paid by the excess of cash surrender value over the guaranteed cash value.
